DIre Wolf Study by TGping DIre Wolf Study by TGping
Daishi For all you Inner Sphere Folks :D

I've actually been a huge fan of Battletech for almost two decades. All that time and I never put to paper my all time fave Battlemech'
Like all the recent studies I've been doing this is just a precursor to a bigger project.

Wow! Loving the bulkiness of the Dire Wolf, but rarely ever piloted it because of its "speed".

Precursor to a bigger project, you say? I am intrigued :D

The landpig looks quite intricate and deadly, btw.

There's a reason why the DC named it the "Daishi"...

i like the Daishi and all but it just doesn't scare me like it should, especially when i can mod a Mad Dog(Vulture) to kill it in 3 turns, but otherwise i love it, and the piece you did

Looking mighty fine there!

I defiantly want to get myself an Occulus Rift VR headset in the future, it would be fantastic for mech piloting games (I think Hawken already has support for it).

I was in closed beta for ages just wait until they add back in DirectX 11 everything just looked stunning before they yanked it. tho I still sucked at the actual fighting I barley have a Kill/Death ratio of 0.9 even now.

Personally, I never liked the Daishi, but this is a really nice work piece. It has a very "vehicle-y" feel to it, and is beautifully detailed.

Just dont prefer the aesthetics of the daishi? I can see that, I didnt initially like the design, but over the uears it became my fave. Some excellent book cover art turned me to its dark ways!

Actually, it's the whole mech as a whole which I dislike (Not your study - that design is amazing :D )
But again, I've always been more of a 40-60 tonner pilot for mechs like the bushwacker, the trebuchet or the rifleman.

I gotcha, the Bushwacker is pretty amazing, especially for a middle-weight.

It's just such a balanced mech able to fit in any roles, even for it's weight. Armor may be a bit lacking, but's it's still one of my favs :D
